About " Venetian Plaster"

The versatile material behind traditional Venetian Plaster is limestone plaster, composed of limestone, marble dust and water, and it is a material unlike any other. As it cures, it reabsorbs carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and becomes stone once again, boasting not only the unique aesthetic beauty of the stone itself but also its strength, ability to withstand water, and natural resistance to mold.

In fact, the moniker "Venetian Plaster" is really a bit of a misnomer. Marmorino Stucco or Marmorino (literally "little marble"), as it is called in Italy, does not indicate a particular style or look but rather its material components, a traditional limestone and marble dust plaster, which in turn can be finished in a variety of lusters, textures and colors.
